Parents & Players,
When we first started our Team Superstar "265" concept in August, it was largely built upon providing a year round developmental program for our players through the addition of a winter box lacrosse program. As we looked at what the best programs in the country were doing, it became clear that the addition of box lacrosse was a necessary step towards competing at the highest level.
Fast forward 4 months! Our box lacrosse training at the American Lacrosse Academy and the commitment from our players to learning box lacrosse is already paying huge dividends!
On December 28th & 29th of 2015, we sent 5 teams to the US Box Lacrosse Association Northeast Regional Tournament in PA. This tournament is a regional qualifier for the National Championships happening in August of 2016 in Los Angeles, California! The top 3 teams in each age group qualify for a chance to compete for a National Championship.
I am proud to announce that our 2022 team and our 2024 team have both qualified for and will be attending the US Box Lacrosse National Championships in Los Angeles in August of 2016!
The 2022 Team went 4-1, scoring the most goals in their division and having the best goal differential of any team in the 2022 bracket. With 39 goals scored and only 8 goals against, they dominated their competition en route to a 4-1 record, good for a 2nd place finish and a National Championship bid. They lost a tough game to Team 91 Long Island, who continues to be the "team to beat" on the American box lacrosse scene. Our 2024 team rolled through this tournament earning first place with a perfect record and a whopping 40 goals scored and only 10 goals against! A huge congratulations to these boys on earning our first ever bids to the National Championships!
At Team Superstar & the American Lacrosse Academy, we are making tremendous progress with the players who have committed to learning the box game and have dedicated themselves to the game of lacrosse. Our 3 v 3 leagues, Player Development Progression classes and ELITE Traning Academy are all contributing to our players incredible success in such a short period of time.
